As a main public transportation hub, airport have the characteristics of large scale, high investment, many facilities and equipment, complex operation, dense personnel, great political and economic impact, so its particularly important to guarantee theirs safety.
In recent years, its very serious for the security situation in the flight area. There have been many incidents happened in domestic airports, some intruders broken through the physical fence of the flight area and sneak into the runway, caused aircraft danger and even casualties. Because of it, Chinese General Administration of Civil Aviation clearly stipulates that, all of the Class 1st (annual passengers throughput of 8 millions or more) and Class 2nd airports (annual passengers throughput between 2 millions to 8 millions) must be installed the Intrusion Alarm System for the perimeter security, and suggest the Class 3rd airports to install the intrusion alarm system for the perimeter security (annual passengers throughput from 50 and 2 millions).

Disadvantages of Traditional Way

Small Detection Range
It does not have ability to detect and track the intrusion target in the whole process. Due to the limited security surveillance field of view for the traditional equipment, there is no way to make sure if the same targets when they left the monitoring area and gotten into again.
Invisible and Untraceable
It does not have ability to perceive threats in real-time. The target was detected by traditional facilities can only be displayed as a point, you cannot identify the type and its relationship with surrounded environment.
Greatly Impact by Environment and High false rate
It is greatly affected by day and weather. Actual scenes such as night, rain and snow, earth magnetic field and light pollution seriously affect the detection capability of monitoring , and it is impossible to work steadily and reliably around 7/24.
Difficulty in Maintenance and Migration
It has a short target detection distance and a narrow field of view, resulting in limited coverage. To ensure full coverage of the wide-area, a large number of equipment should be involved, resulting in difficult maintenance, and hard-to-migrate once the defense area changed.
